What Is Missionary Travel Association (MTA)?
Missionary Travel Association (MTA) provides mission trip and missionary travel protection designed specifically for churches, ministries, and mission teams. Coverage includes up to $100,000 in medical expenses, emergency medical evacuation, and repatriation benefits. Unlike many providers, MTA partners with a sister company, Jet ICU which operates ICU-configured medical transport aircraft, allowing rapid evacuation response without outsourcing or broker bidding.
International Travel
$100,000 illness, injury medical expenses. Covid-19 covered as any other illness
$250,000 repatriation to the closest medical facility near your primary residence
$100 daily benefit for bedside companion
$100,000 accidental death and dismemberment
$1,500 for loss of baggage or personal effects
$500 for baggage delay
Purchase up to 180 days of protection
Political, security and natural disaster evacuation included.
Domestic Travel
$100,000 emergency illness, injury medical expenses. Covid-19 covered as any other illness. USA personal medical insurance and any other insurance/indemnity is primary.

There are some locations at various times that are unsafe for travel due to civil unrest, conflict, etc. Current restrictions can be found in Travel Info. These locations are determined by the OFAC list. As a safety measure and prior to trip enrollment remember to check travel advisories for your destination of travel. Current countries for which no benefits are: Belarus, Burkina Faso, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Myanmar, Lebanon, Libya, Mali, Niger, South Sudan, Central African Republic, Gaza/West Bank, Afghanistan, Chad, Haiti, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Nigeria, North Korea, Russia, Somalia, Syria, Uganda, Ukraine, Venezuela, and Yemen.
Not available for countries listed as a “Level 4- Do Not Travel” destination by the US Department of State. You can consult the list at Travel.State.Gov. -
No coverage or benefits provided for pre-existing medical conditions meaning any illness, disease or other condition with which an enrolled participant received treatment and/or a recommendation for a test, exam or a medical diagnosis 60 days prior to trip departure date.

MTA benefits are not available for any trip participant who turns 81 or higher on the day of trip departure.
